The Nature of God We believe that God exits as three persons in one essence. Those persons are God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that this triune God has at least nine clear attributes that describe who He is and that Christians should filter any doctrine about God through these attributes and that any doctrine that contradicts any of these should be rejected as false. These attributes are:
1. Incomprehensibility (unable to be fully understood) 2. Trinity (one in being, three in person) 3. Simplicity (is fully each divine attribute) 4. Immutability (intrinsically unchangeable) 5. Aseity (completely self-sufficient) 6. Omnipotence (completely powerful) 7. Omnipresence (present everywhere) 8. Omniscience (completely knowledgeable) 9. Omnibenevolence (completely righteous)
The Nature of Jesus We believe that the person Christ Jesus was God in human form, existing as fully God and fully human, and was completely without sin. We believe that Jesus physically died on the cross, taking upon Himself the wrath of God, providing the means of salvation which is sufficient for & available to all while ultimately only applying to those who put their faith in Christ alone for salvation.
The Sovereignty of God We believe that God created the universe and everything in it for a specific purpose and will accomplish that purpose exactly as He has planned it. Within that, our authors may have different theological positions that range in interpretation as to how this plays out.
The Creation of the World We believe that God created the universe directly and without a material cause, as described in Genesis 1-2. Within that, our authors may have different theological positions that range in interpretation as to how this was accomplished.
The Creation of Humanity We believe that God created humanity male and female – two distinct genders, equal in value as divine image bearers and uninterchangeably distinct in design. We believe gender is determined by this biologically distinct design and is not determined by social construct. Therefore, we believe any attempt to change ones gender to be at odds with the teachings of scripture.
The Institution of Marriage We believe that the institution of marriage was ordained by God as soley between one man and one woman, for life. We believe that any instituion that unifies two people of the same gender or more than two people is not in keeping of God's design for marriage.
The Nature of Scripture We believe that the 66 books of the Bible are the authoritative word of God, perfect in message and in wording, completely accurate, with divine authorship. We believe that the Bible we have access to today sufficiently reflects the original autographs to be trusted as God’s word to humanity, in keeping with God’s promises.
The Work of the Holy Spirit We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells true believers, giving them the power to grow spiritually, resist sin, and become conformed to the image of Christ.
The Reality of Sin We believe that all people natrually fall short of the moral standard of God, deserving punishment from God in the form of spiritual death.
The Exclusivity of Christianity We believe that Jesus is the only feasible way a person can be made right with God with the only other way (living a perfect life) being impossible to meet by any person. We believe salavation is entirely by grace, through faith - that is, entrusting oneself entirely unto God for salvation.
The Return of Jesus We believe that Jesus will return to earth, judge the world, and glorify all true Christians. Within that, our authors may have different theological positions that range in interpretation as to how this will be accomplished.
The Existence of the Afterlife We believe that all people will either be sent to heaven or hell after they physically die on earth and that which destination a person goes to is determined solely by their standing before God as either justified through Christ or condemned by their own works.
Unity in The Church We believe that God has tasked his Church of believers to be unified in that we are to treat one another with love and respect, irresectable of differences of beliefs. There is no place for quarrelling, condescension, and bullying of individuals we disagree with. No Christian should be made to feel like a second class believer for their difference of opinion on non-essential doctrines. We also believe that the call to unity does not equate to a call to uniformity or a forbearance on discussing areas of disagreement with truth and grace. We believe that Christians should share why they believe their beliefs are right and the other Christian’s beliefs are wrong – so long as it is done in proper timing with gentleness and respect. This free exchange of beliefs functions as a safeguard against widespread falsity and trains God’s people to share their beliefs in a compelling way to the outside world.
